Jake (Persistent Sir)

Jake is a lovely big thoroughbred gelding that was left abandoned on agistment in 2023. He was surrendered to SAHA where he was brought up to date with vet work before assessment under saddle. As part of the OTT Program, he also underwent training offsite.

Jake is big and dopey, we affectionately refer to him as Jake the dinosaur, but he is a thoroughbred that is young so does require an experienced home.

Jake was adopted in 2024 but due to change of circumstance he returned to SAHA in 2025. Suitable for casual riding, for someone who wants to do trail riding, walking etc. Jake won’t be suitable for circle work or heavy riding due to his conformation. A very docile, dopey nature, Jake would suit someone who just wants to go with the flow. Being a thoroughbred Jake will require a rider with experience, but since he loves life in the slow lane, he is most suited to someone who wants to do the same. Jake can be dominant over other horses but does require a friend even just over the fence.

Please note Jake was found to have mild have Kissing Spine on x-rays, but shows no signs under saddle. He has been cleared by our vets as a ridden prospect. Jake does require front shoes on.
