|Story:||India was rescued from Laidley sales. She can't have been long off the track and had some leg injuries, however on further investigation, her leg wasn't injured - she had a very unusual gait and our vet suspected her as being a wobbler.|
Wobblers is a condition caused by compression of the cervical spinal cord making the horse's behaviour unusual, such as wobbling, stumbling, falling, head bobbing, shortened stride etc etc.
She will be monitored carefully to make sure it doesn't progress faster than normal and to make sure she isn't in any pain. The specialist has informed us that wobblers is slow progressing and doesn't cause any pain in most cases. Horses can live happy lives with wobblers as long as it doesn't progress quickly.
India has shown some improvement so we will continue to monitor her and if there is any chance she can be a riding prospect we will investigate that.
