|Story:||He was surrendered quite skinny, with weight gain issues and we soon realised he had ulcers and started him on treatment and he gained weight well.|
Tommy was placed in our Track to Hack program and prepared to be assessed under saddle for a future as a riding horse. However, it became apparent quite quickly that Tommy was having issues when he exercised and he was diagnosed with anhydrosis - a condition where the horse loses its ability to sweat. This is a real problem in the sub tropical climate in Queensland and Tommy has to be carefully monitored in the summer.
Ideally we would like to see Tommy find a forever home in a cooler climate as a loving companion to another horse and his own human.
