|Story:||We paid $250 to save Vixen from going to the knackery. She was in horrible condition and wasn't very well handled.|
In June we were a little suspicious that she was in foal, so we sent her up to be scanned however she played up like a naughty pony during the scan, which is the only real reason we can think of as to why the foal was missed. We were told no foal so she was sent to the trainer to be broken in.
She had been resting at our Tarampa Sanctuary before being brought back into work to go up for adoption.
Then in November, she delivered a little surprise package when Dash was born!
Vixen was given some time to raise her foal and once weaned we turned her out with the herd just to have a break and be a horse again.
She is still nervous but coming along in leaps and bounds and has had regular handling.
Vixen is for adoption to the right home, however she will be required to be restarted under saddle. I believe with regular work she is going to make a great little riding pony. She is the type of horse to bond with one person, once she had that trust and bond I think she will be a fantastic little mare. She is suitable to an experienced home to restart her under saddle.
