Comanche

Gelding Unknown - possibly ASH

Comanche was rescued from the doggers. This 7 year old horse isn’t unhandled, he is terrified. I have never in all of my years dealt with a horse as afraid of human contact than this fellow. His whole body trembles to the point of exhaustion. But he isn’t unhandled. He is gelded, has had his feet trimmed in his 7 years old life, has a rump brand and leads perfectly but one little move or crunch of sticks under his own hooves and he leaps in the air because something is going to kill him. I’d hate to think of what he has been through! But man he can move. He can spin on a dime to get away from any predator and his sliding stops and roll backs all done on his own (to get away from predators of course) are amazing! This little horse has some moves but I doubt if we will ever repair his head enough for him to be able to use them under saddle. Unfortunately Comanche was prone to violent outbursts and although we tried professional training and then one-on-one handling, he was always fearful and as a result, dangerous. We had to make the very sad decision to have him euthanised after he attacked a vet. We tried our hardest but sadly, his problems weren’t fixable.
