Melon

Melon came into care at 10 days old in need of urgent vet care her owners were unable to afford. Jen & Lace raced to collect little Melon and her mum Macey and took them directly to West Vets for treatment. Little Melon was a very sick foal with a severe eye ulcer, sepsis and pneumonia.  She was a fighter however after improvement she then developed colic the call was made to operate as remove the blockage and her displaced colon, however after surgery she was slow to wake and then began showing neurological issues. Under vets’ advice the decision was made to give little Melon her wings – she fought hard but was all just too much for her little body.
