Roman

Roman was rescued from the dogger’s yard as a 10 day old foal. His mother had unfortunately already been slaughtered and was not able to be rescued. He was in good condition but his IgG levels were low and he had to have a plasma infusion. Unfortunately, Roman refused to drink from a bottle or bucket but luckily our super nanny mare, Piper, allowed him to feed from her. She would not let Roman stay around her and Kalahari though and another nanny mare who had lost her own foal was found. Sadly, this mare would not accept Roman at all – so he continued to eat hard feed and occasionally nursed from Piper. Roman has grown into a beautiful boy who is so well handled. He has a sweet nature and is a real character.
