Roy was left on a property by is previous owner. The woman who owns the property took good care of him and fed him well while waiting for his owner to come back…. which he didn’t.
Roy’s injury happened overnight, and immediately he was given bute for the pain and had his wounds cleaned, then the property owner contacted SAHA to surrender him.
It is this woman who acted quickly to get Roy the help he needed, instead of leaving him with injuries which would have become infected, so many thanks to her for looking after the welfare of a horse she didn’t even own.
Roy stayed in hospital over that weekend having IV & IM antibiotics and bandage changes. He was then transported to the Sanctuary where he has to be on 2 weeks stable rest and his wounds tended to.
