When Bolt arrived, we were relieved to see that, while he was emaciated, he wasn’t as bad as recent cases we’d seen so we have great hopes for him making a full recovery and putting weight back on. Bolt came into care in very poor body condition and cuts all over his legs. Since being in care he been brought back up to a good weight and wound care has been to heal all of his leg wounds which were all superficial. He has scars.
Bolt had surgery on both knees as a racehorse, once coming into care X-Rays of both knees were taken and our vets have advised he has some wear so would not suit jumping, eventing or sporting. X-Rays can be provided to serious enquiries.
He has been given the all clear to do any sort of flat work from light trail riding to light dressage etc.
Bolt has a beautiful personality, is very flashy and has been a pleasure to have around. He is fuss free in the paddock and has shown no vices under saddle or on the ground. He would be best suited to an experienced rider as he is young and green. However, with some work/ miles we could definitely see bolt being suitable for a confident beginner under instruction to make the perfect light trail riding horse.
