Ginny came into SAHA when the RSPCA came to us with a starvation case on two horses. Ginny was very much a bag of bones, and we knew we had to take her and her mate Summer in.
Ginny was rehabilitated and was assessed under saddle. She was adopted out and recently came back when their circumstances changed.
As with all returning SAHA horses she again went through assessment and upon showing mild lameness when trotting was examined by our vets and found she has mild ringbone. With a change to how her hooves are trimmed she is now sound. Our vets advised only light lead line rides, or a paddock companion.
Ginny is a great horse to have as a paddock buddy.
