Lily-Rae

Mare Palouse Pony

Lily-Rae was at the sales when she went down in the pens. This meant she was immediately withdrawn from sale and marked for slaughter. We managed to secure her safety and transported her the short distance to our Tarampa Sanctuary. She was in very poor condition and had had a foal weaned from her on the day of the sales. The vet found that Lily was suffering from a severe urinary tract infection and she was placed on fluids and strong antibiotics. It took quite a long time for her to recover but she has come along beautifully. Lily is a timid mare who has been let down by humans in the past, but once she builds a bond, she will make a fantastic companion mare for someone. She hasn’t been broken in and she is too timid to be broken in now. She is easy to worm and do her feet and easy to catch with food.
