Chumlee came to us off the track with a haematoma on his hind leg and unsound. Chumlee went to the UQ hospital for a bone scan which showed up laminitis in hind hooves and he was diagnosed with a neurological condition called “Shivers” which deemed him unsuitable for riding. Chumlee was the most amazing horse – he had this unbelievably calming gift (even though he was naughty and got into everything!). He loved cuddles and investigating new things and was wonderful with other horses – he had such a calming effect on them. Due to his condition, we decided to retire him as the meet and greet horse for new arrivals. Chumlee remained happy for quite a while but then suddenly had a series of severe attacks and medication was not helping. We had to make the decision to put him to rest. RIP naughty beautiful boy.
