Duncan was surrendered by a heartbroken girl who had leased him out but had gotten him back in shocking condition. He was covered with infected rain scald, his teeth and feet had not been attended to and he was emaciated. Duncan had also been caught in fencing and both back fetlocks were lacerated. It took several weeks for his legs to heal and after a slow feeding program, he recovered his condition. Unfortunately Duncan wouldn’t stay sound under saddle. We discovered he has nerve damage in his knee which doesn’t allow him to lock the knee properly. He is 100% paddock sound but needs to be monitored and so will stay in our Golden Oldies Program.
