Kirby (Apexian)

Kirby was rescued very sick and weak. She was in an emaciated condition and had an very badly damaged eye. She transported to hospital immediately and had surgery to remove her eye, which would have been causing her considerable pain. Kirby’s records show that she earned $22,000 in prize money when racing and had 4 foals. Unfortunately Kirby’s heart began failing her which is very odd because her heart had actually been working perfectly but sadly it seems other parts of her hadn’t been working so well which had put enormous pressure on her heart. The kindest thing to do was to euthanize her. Our vets did all they could but there wasn’t anything more anyone could have done. Im actually extremely devastated about this because she was doing so well, just for her heart to give up on her. Another lot of bloods were taken to try and determine what caused her heart to go into failure. RIP sweet Kirby. I’m so sorry we couldn’t save your life.
