Our gorgeous little Dash was a surprise package! His mum, Vixen arrived on the 31st of December 2014 after we paid $250 to save her from going to the knackery. She was in horrible condition and wasn’t very well handled. In June we were a little suspicious that she was in foal so we sent her up to be scanned however she played up like a naughty pony during the scan which is the only real reason we can think of as to why the foal was missed. We were told no foal so she was sent to the trainer to be broken in. She was a sweet little mare and was broken in and had been resting at our Tarampa Sanctuary before being brought back into work to go up for adoption. Then all of a sudden, little Dash arrived.. His dam, Vixen, is a pony about 13hh and sire is meant to be a QH around 15hh. Dash was born a very big foal, so I’d say he will mature around the 15hh mark. He is solid, smart and easy to handle. He has a playful personality and loves to play with his paddock mate (Jonah – also a young foal). Dash has had 4 weeks professional handling with Shannon Bates at Benwerrin Stud. He leads, ties up, has a bath, gets his feet trimmed, has rugs put on and off and floats. He isn’t currently winter rugged so is nice and woolly. We are so happy that both Dash and his best friend Jonah have been adopted together!
