Fernando

We went down to the Laidley sales for a look on the plans to save one life. When we got there we seen this poor little guy in a pen scared, his coat was mattered and he looked dull and life less, he had a pot belly and was hard to walk away.

The team brought this orphaned 4month old foal for $100. We soon learnt he was a fantastic kicker who had very little handling but with time and perseverance we managed to get a halter on.

unfortunately due to the heat and being week Fernando collapsed on the float , where we had to pick him up and move him in further to close the tail gate he was exhausted. We got him back up and immediately took him to our sanctuary for care.

The first couple of days he would only eat hay we put down on the ground for him, he soon worked out better things were in his new feed tub, and his love of food begun.

Fernando is now a cheeky character, with so much energy and life he is in with his friend Manny who teaches him horsey rules! Something Fernando like’s to push and see how far he can go.
