Ophelia was originally surrendered with colic in 2021. She was brought to the sanctuary for treatment and made a full recovery. She has been out on adoption, but she has returned to SAHA as her adoptive young owner struggled to have her behave well at outings and competitions. When in a relaxed environment Ophelia is a good riding horse, so we would only recommend a home who wants her for trails and noncompetitive disciplines. She will need a rider who can confidently deal with her if a tantrum does arise. Ophelia is a great little jumper also, so a keen confident competent rider would suit her well.
Ophelia is good to handle, wash, rug, farrier and float. She is good in the paddock with mares or geldings, and respectful of fencing.
