Jan 2021 – Surprise came back into care through no fault of his own. Since his time away from the sanctuary he has been broken in he has been on trail rides, to shows and attended clinics.
He is a quiet horse to ride with no vices and has been ridden by children under supervision in the past. As he is still green he would need someone with experience to oversee his future under saddle.
Surprise was rescued from the Laidley sale yards. He was thrown in as an accidental purchase when we bid on another horse at the sales. Lucky boy! When we bought Surprise from the saleyards, we were told that he was a weanling but on dental inspection he had his 2 year old teeth.
Since then he has grown quite well and is developing perfectly. He is a beautifully put together horse and has great movement when playing in the paddock. He is a pleasure to handle and leads perfectly. Surprise also was a confirmed rig and needed surgery to remove his testicles from his abdomen. However, during the surgery only one testicle could be found. He became very colty in his behaviour and another hormone test done which showed high testosterone.
He had another surgery which discovered another testicle high up in his abdomen. Surprise continued to be colty and his hormone levels were incredibly high. A third rig surgery discovered another testicle hidden away. He sure lives up to his name!
Surprise is a lovely boy who is easy to handle and is ready to take his next step in life.
