Klaus (Sabtah Keperra)

Klaus arrived at SAHA in 2020 before being adopted out, due to a change of circumstances he has returned to SAHA. Since his return he has been going well under saddle and during his training he has been taken on trails and to obstacle courses. He is a still green and wary so will require an experienced home to continue to build his confidence and further his education. Klaus can be a little timid on the ground and on rare occasion under saddle, he is generally quite lazy under saddle. He has an understanding of basic leg aids, opening gates and is capable of being soft and responsive. He comes across as a horse that bonds with primarily one person, as when familiar he can show quite a calm nature, however when intimidated or in the anticipation of pressure he becomes overwhelmed. This is evident when picking up his feet which he can find quite challenging.

Klaus is a Quarab gelding, he is stunning with papers 75% Arab and 25% Quarter Horse.

Klaus was given his name in honour of one of our beloved Equine Vets Dr Lukas Orda went missing at sea after the ship he was on capsized during a typhoon off the coast of Japan. Why Klaus? Because it’s a perfect anagram of the name “Lukas”. Klaus is also a German name, and Lukas’s heritage is from Germany.
