Winn-Dixie came into care completely unhandled as one of the 10 horses that came from a property out west in 2020. She was so frightened and so unused to people that she ran up and into the float with no halter on. It was certainly a mission to get her into a stable, on arrival to our sanctuary she was very distressed and quite wild. Yet the girls fell in love with her instantly and began working with her.
We’re so proud of how far Winn-Dixie has come in her time at SAHA, she can still be a little wary of new people, but she is good to catch, handle and groom and she’s even found a love of bath time!
Winn Dixie she is a good doer so do have to watch her weight and is up for adoption as a companion horse for an experience home.
