Darcy was rescued from the Gympie sales with what we thought was a bowed tendon. On his pen the write up said that he had a torn tendon which we thought we could fix, however it was established that he didn’t have a torn tendon but in fact had a shattered sesamoid bone. It wasn’t just fractured, it was shattered and part of the bone dislodged when the ligament contracted. Sadly this was not fixable and we had no option but to put this beautiful horse to sleep. I cant believe he was sent to the sales like this, he would have been in a world of pain. RIP Darcy x
