Dreamer was bought by the knackery from the Laidley sales and because of his age was unable to be rehomed.
He had been used by a vet company as a blood plasma donor for 10 years to provide other horses with blood transfusions.
Dreamer wasn’t very good in a herd was little aggressive but then Matisse came along and he done a complete turn around to the point we introduced him into a larger herd, his paddock buddies have brought the best out in Dreamer, where he now runs around and grooms his buddies, which is great to see him be so relaxed and really enjoy retirement!
He is a fairly low maintenance horse and is fat and healthy. He does have a little arthritis in his shoulder which plays up in colder weather but he is on medication for it and has no problems.
Dreamer is a permanent resident here at the sanctuary and will live out his golden years under our Golden Oldies program.
