Isaac was surrendered to us with a shocking hoof injury that had not been treated and made his hoof deformed. The only hope was surgery but this type of surgery was expensive and difficult, without a complete guarantee that it would be successful. We decided he was too beautiful a horse to be put to sleep and went ahead with the surgery. Isaac lost nearly half of his hoof and had a special shoe fitted with putty on the side to take the place of the missing part of his hoof. He needed 3 lots of surgery to get the hoof to grow back normally but after a long recovery was paddock sound. Unfortunately after a period of being happily paddock sound, Isaac became lame and there was nothing that could be done for him.
