Jaylet

Gelding Standardbred

Jaylet was surrendered after the people who had recently purchased him, discovered he had a very nasty eye abscess and was in need of significant specialised vet treatment. He was taken immediately to Manly Road Vet Hospital to be placed in the care of Dr Pauline Gavin, who takes care of all of our eye patients. Unfortunately, Jaylet’s eye was too damaged and he was in a lot of pain, so the eye was removed. Being without his eye hasn’t bothered him at all and hasn’t stopped him from being amazing. Jaylet has been assessed under saddle and is a beautiful quiet horse for someone wanting a nice plodder. He would suit someone from a beginner to an intermediate rider who knows the basics. Jaylet is a STB, so his canter isn’t perfect and sometimes he does pace, so wouldn’t really suit someone wanting a competition horse but he would make an amazing family horse or an adult looking for a confidence booster to trail ride and just love. He is a lovely gentleman to do anything with and hasn’t put a hoof wrong since we have had him. Jaylet does get itch but it’s easily controlled with a weekly bath (which he loves!) and rugging. He’s also on Hyaglyde to protect his joints. Jaylet has gone to a pleasure riding home and also as a companion horse to be loved.
