We saved Vixen from going to the knackery. She was in horrible condition and wasn’t very well handled.
We were a little suspicious that she was in foal, so we sent her up to be scanned however she played up like a naughty pony during the scan, which is the only real reason we can think of as to why the foal was missed.
Then in November, she delivered a little surprise package when Dash was born!
Vixen was given some time to raise her foal and once weaned we turned her out with the herd just to have a break and be a horse again. She is still nervous but coming along in leaps and bounds and has had regular handling. SHe can be difficult to catch, but once caught, is easy to handle.
Vixen is awaiting ridden assessment.
